Passageways is a non-profit organization whose mission is to serve military veterans in Wichita, Kansas. Towards the end of 2022, they were looking to create an infographic that detailed performance over the last year. I worked with them, designing a graphic annual report to showcase and summarize their contributions. The purpose was to create something that would supplement the annual newsletter and be a data-driven document that could be distributed to current/potential donors and volunteers.
VISUAL IDENTITY
To provide context behind the charts and graphs within the infographic, content needed to be formatted in a comprehensible way, like a story; left-to-right and front-to-back. What problem is being addressed, and how are they solving it both now and in the future. Images and icons would be placed alongside the visual data to provide additional clarity, while color, shape, and size would create separation, hierarchy, and highlight important statistics or phrases.
INFOGRAPHIC
The front-side begins with a diagram displaying the problem of homeless veterans. Passageways provides a solution with its Pillars Program, where up to eight male veterans are sheltered in the organization's Living Center, and go through an extensive self-improvement process before graduating and moving into permanent independent housing. On the back-side, Passageways' other initiative, the Outreach Center, is detailed. The Outreach Center distributes different household supplies to struggling veterans and their families. To provide a glimpse into the future, the infographic ends with a timeline listing a third initiative, the Falanne House, in 2023.
